A couple of years ago, I casually asked a zealous JW friend how he would react if the GB sent a letter to all congregations stating that the org was on the brink of financial collapse and begged JW home - owners to earnestly consider consolidating their properties by selling up and moving in with another JW household - and then send the proceeds of sale to the org, in order to prevent bankruptcy.
I was pleasantly surprised when he said he wouldn't sell his house for the org! :)
i was thinking about this over the weekend.
just this week, there was the "consolidation" talk (in my wife's congregation) , the article about shunning that went viral, and the annual "show your love and obedience to jehovah by giving us your money" watchtower.
i know my wife said people are running scared about this consolidation even though it was sold as maximizing space to help other areas, build kh in other countries, etc...... the media and government has hit them hard in many countries, but they have gotten off easy in the usa, where the majority of the people and money reside.
Lepermessiah said, "this religion is going to have to change to survive."
I reckon the cult is going to continue with their program of making the sheeple change to fit the org's 21st century strategies.
R&f JW's are being dominated and controlled more than they have ever been in the history of this cult, and the hierarchy will simply maintain their "great tribulation/Armageddon" message of doom to keep them in line.

Whoever authorised these attempted murders were worse than amateurish by leaving such an attributable "calling card" at the scene of the crime. Or was it left deliberately, in order to point a finger?

Just a question for UK folks: one of the two policemen who first attended the scene (and was also infected) was a Detective Sergeant. Surely uniformed beat cops would have been sent to a situation where persons appeared ill in a public place? I've never heard of detectives being first responders to such a scenario. Unusual to say the least.
Adds to the conspiracy theories I suppose.
the next time i see the jdubs standing or sitting by their carts sipping their coffee lattes or updating their facebook pages, i am going to approach them with the following thought process acting as an interested person.. do jw's believe the end is near?.

whenever a hollywood actress has been propositioned or touched up, we know all about it.. but a story - mostly suppressed by the mainstream media - is emerging of far worse abuse of human females.. telford appears to have a grooming/sex abuse scandal of its own to rival the ones in rochdale, oxford and other uk towns.. it appears the msm, police and politicians and other authorities are very slow in learning their lesson from rochdale.. unbelievable that this case hasn't made the guardian or the bbc.. i guess the sisterhood thinks hollywood women are much more important than telford girls.

it's goodbye to bristol - hengrove congregation of jw's and the inmates ... err ... members, will be sent to two other bristol congregations either side of it.. i'm told by two elders from bristol, england it is being disbanded on may 1st 2018. this is the 2nd congregation in this circuit to be disbanded recently - the 1st being portishead in late 2014.. hooray!.
Good news! Every closure and sell-off should cause many r&f to be seriously disturbed by the monetary vampire which the WTBTS has become.
JW's should bear this phrase in mind - "Coming to a KH near you - soon!"

As you have quickly discovered, J.W.'s and their organization have two faces - one of piety and self-righteousness for the world to see, and the other which screams 'cult.'
One of their favourite scriptures is John 13:35 - "By this all will know that you are my disciples - if you have love among yourselves.”
However, in practice this is translated as "if you have conformity among yourselves.”
Rank & file JW's are positively fearful and forbidden from openly voicing any concerns about their dictatorship's interpretations or practices.
Thankfully, active apostates are more common than suicides.
just had 2 jw's from my local kh ring my doorbell and then put the invitation through my letterbox.
absolutely no desire to talk to local jw's who know me, so i declined to answer the door.. on the subject of the invite, the very first sentence deceptively says - "on the night before he died, jesus told his followers to commemorate his death.
he said, keep doing this in remembrance of me.".
scratchme said, "that's exactly what you did."
If you care to read my exact response, you'll see that I did nothing of the sort: I didn't thank them, let them be, and dismiss them. I refused to engage with them and ignored them - something which every potential JW recruit would and should be advised to do.
